Soho Group, in partnership with Home in Place, are developing 15 new apartments that are within walking distance to the city centre, local shops and community facilities.
This Community Housing project involves the replacement of a single-storey house with a three-storey walk-up apartment building containing 6 two-bedroom units & 9 one-bedroom units.
As well as the apartments, the development features two off-street car spaces, undercover bike store, bin store, and landscaping. All ground floor units are intended to meet the performance expectations of Lifemark 4-Star, and will be suitable for people with disability.
As with all their developments, Soho Group commit to exceeding the Building Code in several areas and will meet the requirements of Healthy Homes and Homestar 6 sustainability rating. The development will commence in early 2023 for completion by March 2024.
The units will be rented to those who have been prequalified by the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) to be on the Social Housing Register and who are currently living in inadequate housing in Palmerston North.
